getting blonder - petcock blanking
« on: June 03, 2010, 10:02:06 AM »
So i am using a 500 tank on my 550k3 and the petcock has two supplies to the carb rather than one and for anal tidiness (yes it has got well into that stage now) i dont want to use a plastic t piece as this is messy and takes too much space for good fuel flow so i want to blank on of the petcocks holes. so as you look at the image i think blank the right and run it on constant reserve or does it not matter a toot which one i do.

cheers

Jim

(so close it hurts the fact it is sunny)

Just a remider---Dont forget the thick fiber washers under the screw heads that hold the tap on or petrol will leak past the tap to the carbs all the time, sorry to say i have not found a fibre equivalent to the horribly expensive Honda ones as they are extra thick but have a smaller than standard outside diameter. I have however used what I know as "Dowty" washers which are the alloy washers with the rubber insert normally found at hydraulic suppliers, trouble is they aint much, if any, cheaper unless you are willing to buy 100's

Sorry but you wont find anything at the iron mongers as the normal 6mm fibre washers have WAAAY to big an OD and just aint thick enough so simply dont do the job
You need 2 x part number 16993-011-000
