Wheeler Dealers Trading up CB750
« on: March 22, 2022, 09:55:50 PM »
Just watched Wheeler Dealers trading up programme on Discovery  where they were working their way up to a Caterham 7. On the way to it they bought a CB750. Waffled on about exhausts being unobtainable etc, eventually got a set  from David Silvers  for cost!!??. Surprise surprise....  When they stared it, it was staged. Opening twist grip right up when revving it and rev increase minimal. Sound not a CB750 either in my mind. No idea how to tell you how to find it but first aired 21st March as a new episode.  PS anybody know the guy he bought it off? Seemed to have a few...
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

No surprises. I took part in Goblin Works Garage once and the whole thing was scripted and staged from start to finish. But it does make entertaining TV!

I gave up on Goblin Works Garage way too staged for me.

Not mad about tattoos either.

I don;t mind hter tatoos ...but the constant 'woohoo' tirade from Mr DeVille just got on my nerves, as did the very obviously staged 'sale' for an arbitrary profit at the end.

it also had some really bad builds, that just didn;t work well or look good.

That's the trouble with reality TV, all scripted, staged and unbelievable. I see at last that Car SOS have dropped the fake 3 week deadline to get the car back to its owner. I guess they had to after the problems they had with the Mercedes SLC, apparently it took over a year to restore, it was so bad. At least Car SOS does focus on the actual work unlike Wheeler Dealers that now tends to focus on a presenter test driving and doing a deal on the car before raging it for the final 10 minutes of the show!

Ha ha ..just found it on Discovery + but actually on Discovery itself. £900 quid for a set of ' months long waiting list but customer just returned' pipes bought from a man who UKPete on here once quoted 'wouldn't give you the st*am of his own p*ss   ;D ' made me chuckle. Didn't recognise the original seller either. Still mighty glad we have DS though ... just got two mega rare seats he auctioned on eBay ...probably a once only in a lifetime chance of getting ones so nice and at surprisingly low finish prices.

Anyone notice that Elvis referred to the GX200 engine out of the clown car as being ' this little 2-stroke engine' .... Hmm I though those Honda engines were 4-strokes  ;D
