STARTER MOTOR GEAR WASHER
« on: April 17, 2022, 05:16:07 PM »
I'm making my way through my rebuild and notice I'm missing a part for the starter gear:

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750f1-super-sport-1976-england_model14680/pl-gear-set_28109300000/

It doesn't seem to be available but looks very simple.  Does anyone know of a work-around, ie using/adapting a standard washer?

Cheers   :)

I was short of this washer but a member had a spare one but spotted this on ebay that includes the washer - expensive for a washer but better than none! The 'shim' is hardened - I can provide sizes if you want but before I got one, I struggled to find anything generically that was similar

List sizes please Phil as the cb1300 uses a gear exactly like that one and it could be near identical and thus usable

That's great and really helpful.  Thankyou very much. I have a new lathe & mill arriving soon so will try to run one up - along with a few other parts!

Problem is it's more of a hardened shim than a washer ... there are loads of places who do custom hardened  washer/ shims in the UK.  I had some made for my CB500/4 valves.
