I had to change some of the fittings, i have not reused a rivet as i could not get any that size, so i used a CSK bolt and a K-nut this dose allow allot essayer dismantelling again and refitting.
The toolbox flap screws got chewed up when i took them out so i have replace with button heads they do not look to out of place, if i come across some of the Oreg ones i can quickly replace with out to much trouble.

I have all so made a start on the oil tank, not going to strip all the paint off as the front face is ok and has quite thick paint on it unlike the rest of the parts. It was mostly the back that needs de-rusting and cleaning up.
I have got about 1/2 way now, just need to buy a 27mm spanner this week so i can take the oil pipes off so i can get into the space around the back of them to clean it and the pipe fittings.
I will hopefully get this done some time in the week after i get the spanner.
Till later Paul

Looking good, I can remember this stage on my F1, it's nice when it's all cleaned up, I use Auto Glym stuff on all the plastic stuff, comes up well.

Cheers

It's been a long time since i did any thing on the bike to many other projects that i need to do.
I have finished the Oil tank and the rear brake light switch bracket not to bad a finish i used double acrylic on them we had some spare !! at work.
I just need new oil seals should have these at work as we have about 400 plus seals that we have on the shelfs.
I do not think i shall get to much done now for a few months as busy time at work now till march, so on hold till then, plus the shed has no heat, me getting old now Me's think.
Till next time Paul

At least your'e getting through some of the tasks whatever pace it's at. Nice when you realise how far you've got and there's less to finish to complete the rebuild.

Just look how much space there is under that seat/tail unit, that's mostly gone on new stuff.

Well done paul it all looks good, every little bit counts if you keep at it one small bit at a time it will all come together, i am struggling to get anything done on my F2 as i have been working hard and also doing work on my kawasaki's and taken a break from the SOHC bikes, but quite the opposite to you i have now packed up work for a month or two and will have plenty of time on my hands so i will get the F2 out and do bits of work to that as well
Pete
