Sometimes on the front mudguard mount bolt at the bottom of the fork, sometimes on the chain guard bolt.

I have a brand new period tax disc holder around somewhere Ted if you want one. It's satin black I think.

I always put them on the fork mudguard stay blot. I think the law said it had to be forward of the seat nose, but maybe that was just a rumour.

How are you going to mount that anywhere?   It hasn't got a bracket.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

I don't have pillion footrests on my bike so I put a tax disc from the year of manufacture on the lefthand footrest mounting.

I prefer the bolt that joins the fender to the fork as a mounting place myself. ;D

Except it would have been illegal there  ;D ;D.

Had to be fitted to the N/S so it was visible from the kerb, had a copper telling me off over that many moons ago.

I always found it was too wet in that place, tax disc just started to dissolve despite the holder supposedly being waterproof

LOL! While dispatch riding in London I got stopped by a pair of policemen in the Aldwych crescent on a rainy day, they seemed to be concentrating on tax disc inspection. They pointed out my empty disc holder and I told them, truthfully, that it was on the office radiator drying out. They started laughing and one said 'we're letting you off because it is the best excuse we've heard all day'!  ;D I never got pulled for the illegal position it was mounted in though, must have been one of those little known laws? Anyway, I think most of us are like I am these days, dry weather only riders!
