Jointing compound , not quite sure if it goes here?

Just about to apply jointing compound to crankcase and not sure if it goes here, as shown on attached pic ?

I put Hondabond very sparingly on that part and the crankcase half - mains journal areas - it was there from new as it was a pig to remove when I was cleaning the crankcase halves.

Others here will confirm.
Honda CB500 K1 (new pit dug out ready)

I found Acetone works well but it evaporates off fast so I had to soak it.

During my crank case groundhog days I got quite profficient at removing Hondabond!
