Ideally my next project will possibly be another 400 that someone has given up on or has a blown engine. This would enable me to use my spare engine & various other 400 parts that I have built up over the last 18 months.

I liked the look of  Nashers 500 & various 550 bits he is trying to sell for a widow - it might be a project too far - not to mention the distance involved. Anyone here know of a 400 at sensible money with a duff engine?

Saw this on e bay - asside from the initial false hook  photo the seller rings a distant bell of caution.
No reply when I asked a few basic questions either.

Newark isn't that far from you Ted, surely a good look at it could be arranged.

Lots of bits missing but not that bad IMO.

The seller has not replied to a couple of basic questions so for me it does not get off the starting blocks.
Would you not look for and find the V5 before you put it on e-Bay?

Suspiciously cheap, would be a bargain though, it is very frustrating that they haven't got back to you, which of course makes you wonder about buying from them.

I agree with you Ted, why would anyone put a bike on ebay without finding the V5 beforehand, very dodgy. And why is such a sorry looking bike kept in the house! The wonders of ebay never cease to amaze, if it wasn't for ebay all these ‘barns’ and their treasures of classic bikes and cars would have remained undiscovered!

I kept one of my 500s in a bedroom for years, I built it up there and had to dismantle it to get it down the stairs. There are pics on the site to prove this  :-[ :-[

It was before the kids were born so we had the space those days, where's it all gone now??

Hi Ted   I also asked questions Although I'm not interested   They did reply to say it was UK registered  So i asked for Reg No  Engine No    and Frame No  so i could check the bikes history  So far no reply  Seems a bit suspect  Personally I would want to see it in the flesh  Better to walk away than get burnt
