CB500 spark advancer centre cam
« on: August 25, 2022, 05:55:32 PM »
Evening

So just started the change back to points before fitting the Hondaman system and fell at the first hurdle

This is what I have when I've removed the electronic ignition

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Apparently I think I'm missing the center cam of the spark advancer which is removed to install the alloy rotar for the electronic ignition.

The whole unit is 30220-323-000 which looks available here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225064173947?epid=1713727851&hash=item3466dec17b:g:~6UAAOSwraNf8yL0&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoO2yhkUH%2FJi0NnsMLuTZ%2ByGvd2lwQPJhSSvX%2FeX0Sgh3rkDlOLxORYzU7V%2F5UE%2FN6YX8hUWIXs7lKcGsCNqIV1KhLVeIexNrZEVTV6AnVCbY195htb8oXYZqSXqMvm223cKIDryBfh9zlVQtbiC0klNU1pd0FDExj70PTcJ8fhcsMk0NEhY03luyKa%2FepnB3rLErRN35KWA9HwRBmjqJh64%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR_KWnd7aYA on eBay at £40 plus postage

It doesn't seem you can get the cam bit on its own ......

If anyone has the cam or a whole good unit I'm desperate as I'm snookered now till I get the part

Thanks

Simon

I replaced my advance plate/shaft and cam because the plate and shaft were fractionally bent due to the bike having been dropped and the centre small nut went slightly off centre when tightened.
I was fussy and it ran ok but either way the cam part (should be fine), base, arms, springs etc you can have foc. Only a c clip is missing.
This is for a CB500/4 K1.
I’m away until Monday. PM me if that suits.
