Has anyone used these coils?

McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
I'm pretty sure that I read it here somewhere that DS went to Honda's original manufacturer's Tec to supply them.
It has been my experience that Chinese products do not stand still when it comes to improving quality either as direct suppliers or sub- contracting for well know brands.
What was true of a  product 2 years ago can be a very different experience today.
The reality is that it's virtually impossible to buy top brand products today that are not either made there or they supply the components for. Miele is the only true German made product I can think of.

You are mistaken, as if you zoom in photo in the link in my first post, the "aftermarket" coil there's no part numbers

But if zoom in on the more expensive OEM type, then you can clearly see FL 703, below and yes it says TEC in description

That is the same  Tec part number on my original looking coils.

Were at cross purposes here I was looking at the OEM replacement never saw the cheaper ones.

The Hendler ones look to be a half decent unit plus they have a UK website.

More to the point the retailer I used via e-bay is local so if I have an issue no postage involved.- time will tell if I regret the choice.

Ah ok, no drama

beardylondon:
I asked DS about the after market ones and they said:

“There is no manufacturing information and they are a white box product. The supplier we have for these is in Taiwan.

The centres were roughly 101mm apart which appears to be the same as the OEM type we have. “
