Sesman:
Walking round Verona stumbled upon these 2 examples. The 500 appeared to be a completely original example with just 11k kilometres on the clock.

Oddjob:
500 I'd say is most likely a restoration. People always seem to apply to much yellow paint to the bolts to make it look like it's not been touched. Honda generally didn't apply that much.

Sesman:
It had a lovely patina. All the right amounts of faded plastic, unmarked bolts and screws, tarnished laquer, dulled tank strip……

Oddjob:
Most likely the owner thought to make it look more original and just painted some of the parts which Honda used to paint. He's gone a bit overboard though, they didn't paint the whole nut, just enough so if the nut etc was disturbed they could see as the paint would crack. It was a safety thing and also a warranty thing at the same time, if the paint was broken they'd deny the warranty claim for instance.
