That gear shift pattern reminded me of my old Renault Dauphine - IIRC it was a 4 speed H pattern but only a 3 speed floor shift gearbox so the usual position for 1st gear was reverse!Just as I got used to the layout I rolled it end over end on a country lane - my fault I was late for work driving too fast when my nearside wheel struck a land drain slot - the lessons of youth eh....

We used to play rally car drivers (pretend as I was only 9!). Funny enough, I can't remember the gear change pattern
My dad had a Renault Dauphine too! It would have been about 1964. Although I was only six, I remember that he hated it. I remember the white HA Viva that he bought soon after - he stuck with Vauxhall for many years after that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
