Frost Strip

Need to remove a black tank liner , has anyone used Frost Strip.?

Not used Frost strip.
But I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread because I need to remove a bubbled up KBS liner from my tank and would also welcome suggestions.

I know lots use Acetone or MEK to remove liners

I used MEK, but if you do make sure you do it outside with a good mask and DO NOT breath it in or you will find yourself flat out for a while

Just wondering,

With MEK do you have to put screws or some sharp stuff into the tank and shake it around a bit, or does MEK on it's own totally strip and dissolve the old tank liner?

I didn't but don't think it would hurt anything.
Just don't breath the stuff in

What I did with a 500 tank with a  liner (tank was off a USA import) was to chuck a kilo of caustic soda into the tank ..equal amounts on both sides. Bung a piece of 1/2" hose about 1.5 meters in length into the tank filler neck, with a funnel on the end and then poured a kettle full of boiling water into the tank via the hose at a distance well back from the tank. After the mayhem had subsided this is what came out.

Not the most PC or HSE friendly method and to be done with great caution, I may add, as a disclaimer. Exotherm man

What did you do to seal the tank afterwards?   Ash's Special Brew, Proprietary kit or cut and weld patches?

I basically did it as an 'experiment' as I got another tank that was in lovely condition with my bike and Menno painted it for me.

I have used that method on a few tanks that were full of stale petrol/varnish though and it was great for removing that too.
