I would agree with Magpie, the original red/white/blue is the one to go for, Honda got it perfect. A mate had a Fireblade repainted in Repsol colours and he was continually asked if it had been previously crashed!

Something to be wary of though is the insurance on a bike that is not in standard colours, insurance companies have been known to reject claims for bikes damaged where the owner has failed to advise them of colour change and especially where the colours replicate a racing livery. Insurance companies think the colour scheme of a bike potentially makes the owner ride faster and take more risks and we all know how insurance companies will use any excuse to avoid paying on claims.

Lovely looking bike if you are not too tall I guess.
I am about 5ft 7in

I could do with a inch out of my femur

To reach a comfy 5'6" I would have to lop off 7"  from my femur that was fitted with a Cloverleaf type Kuntscher Nail back in 1966 when I fractured it as a pillion.
When the nail was removed ten months later I kept it as a souvenier - it survived four flat/house moves but was lost when I was  divorced. It was in an old badly worn briefcase in the loft. Weird but I miss not having it close by.
