That's a modern Rotec radial engine, not an original WW1 Rotary engine. They were Clerget or Bentley engines originally. Rotary engines rotate around the crank when running which creates a lot of torque reaction. That made aircraft fitted with them very tricky to fly, they would turn very quickly one way (helped by the torque) but were a bastard to turn the other way. There's no way I would try and ride a bike with that lot spinning in front of my crown jewels! A challenge for Mr Millyard I think? 😂
