We’ve had holes in-the road by our front door for ages and finally they came today to fill them. Whoop whoop and indeed whoop. No more clunky suspension noises from cars banging over/into them.
They turned up dropping various rock hard piles of cold lay tarmac in and kept going. I thought, ok they’re going to the top of the hill, bout 150 yards, turn round and whacker plate the piles with the one in the back of their transit pick up and sweep up on their way down. They took a while and thought they must be doing a bit of car park at the top.

Weeeell.. they’d been a while as they’d reversed into my pals motor, taken the bumper off it and folded in the bonnet, driven down the hill at 3mph trying to run over all the piles to bed them down before buggering off!

Whhhaaaaat!

This what we’re left with………….

I’ve rung them.!
Firstly knackering my pals Audi, sayin nowt and driving off is bonkers but to leave anything like that is simply incredible. All on 4 different houses door cameras showing the van and the op pi’s and the reg plate..

They’ve actually gone above and beyond! Patched a bit that wasn’t marked.😳 or maybe there was a lump fell off the pick up and they couldn’t be bothered to shovel it back up and just rolled it in. Well almost rolled it in. Poor effort! And pity about your pals motor!😡

Laverda Dave:
The 'skilled road maintenance engineers' who undertook the work were obviously on a 'job & knock' bonus scheme as we used to call it. A similar situation occurred with potholes outside Rod Stewart's house a few years ago. He got so fed up asking the council to fill them in he went and did it himself! He got into big trouble with the council for not complying with H&S guidelines!

Laverdaroo:
I read all that in a paper whilst going somewhere, it was a mile or so he did. Good lad!

I’m awaiting a call back as there’s ‘job n knock’ and there’s ‘job n knock’ that’s not even deserving of the title ‘crap job’.

Great to know we have such skilled operatives mending our highways and byways. Terribly inspiring as a motorcycle rider

It's possible they may have been doing what you suspected Roo, laid down the tarmac roughly, then worked out that the road was a dead end, not wanting to drive over the tarmac after they'd used the whacker plate they decide to turn the vehicle round, so they go to the top of the road, they hit your mates car and think oh bugger lets get out of here before anyone sees us, they then drive off without finishing the job.
