CB550F Speedo Drive

Hello all,

Does anyone know what part number oil seal is used in the speedo drive?

Is it the oil seal inside the cable connector shaft you are after or the one inside the hub?

Parts books for the 550 are in Aladdins Cave that are free to dowload.

Someone here will need to confirm the 550 is the same Speedo drive hub as the 500.
On my 500 the seals were: 15x4.8x4 for the cable end.
Hub seal was 34x48x7 a double lipped seal iirs R23/TC.
Both seals available on e bay or similar.
Honda CB500 K1 (new pit dug out ready)

Well I think I may as well replace both while it’s on the bench.

The parts manual doesn’t break down the speedo drive assy.

Not sure if you've already dismantled it Doug but if not use a really good screwdriver on the grub screw or it will round off. A little heat might not go astray either if it refuses to move.
