I have loads of soaps for buffing, you cannot go off the colour as each manufacturer seems to make them to their own colour chart. For instance that list posted by Ted, I have grey, pink and cream as well. Grey is ultra aggressive and ideal as a start up soap, there is also one called Ultra Grey which is even more aggressive, that one seems to not be available ATM, maybe they do limited runs of it.

I normally finish my polishing with a fine soap, light green or pink but the last piece I did I couldn't find them and I spotted the cream soap, which I knew was really fine, I'd never used it and thought why not? So I finished the piece using that. It went on really oddly, but the finish was great, the best of it was was that fingerprints didn't bother it, sure you left some but a simple wipe with a piece of kitchen paper and they were just gone, not the case with other soaps as the grease in your finger prints tends to mark a high polish finish.

I think I may be finishing with cream in the future.
