My Cycleserve  manual  has the same figures as Haynes so I'll go with at one.

What is the best way to stop the cam from turning whilst torquing it up I do not want to damage anything - Rotor bolt with a spanner on it?

Managed to Torque up the cam sprocket without having to take of the alternator cover off to get at the rotor bolt.

I found that if the top bolt was just to the left of being at the top you can Torque it up as the tightening action holds against the sporocket rotating - at the top it rotates down clockwise, too far on the left & it rotates anticlockwise.

Looking at the manual there are 6 Copper washers on some of the cam cover bolts - just wondered why this is if anyone knows ?

The workshop manual shows the locations - I'm thinking it's just for those six places that need to seal against oil?

Suprisingly the manual does not show a tightening sequence for the cam cover so my thinking is similar to the cylinder head working from the center diagonally outwards in stages until the final torque setting is reached.
