I guess we will learn the value of shells based on availability and demand. I’ll soon be in a position to investigate cost and availability both in Asia and America.
Is it true that 426 shells fit the 500 Ken? ... if so these don't look a bad price.

Reasonable price Ash, they only have 5 of them though and greens are still easy to find. The 426 bearing do fit but only the conrod shells not the mains.
Phil, I've searched for years now and I've found some in Japan before now but black mains especially are extremely hard to find. Just checked Ebay and there are 2 available from the USA, however the price is excessive. More than £30 each.
Impex still has some brown and green mains at reasonable prices if you don't factor in P&P and possible import duties, however as they are still available in the UK I don't really bother collecting them unless they are really cheap. I'm not rich so I can't tie up loads of money on stock that you can still buy if you look hard enough.
