Hello and welcome from me too. You have undoubtedly come to the right place.

Welcome here Kickback, and I'm sure you'll find lots of knowledge to soak up!  ;D

I do love the thing... but get fed up with being asked "is it a Jota mate?" Ĝ ;D

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will glean some knowledge to help you with a Honda project. I used to own a PRR in the 80's.
Ref your quote, I am always amazed at the number of older bikers who have little knowledge of older bikes when you talk to them - such a lot of people come to biking later in life I suppose or maybe just have a failing memory!

Enjoy the forum

So, what's the early Laverda you have, a 100, 200twin, an early SF a pre-production V6 maybe 😎.

Thank you, yes I have a 'camel back' tank 71 750sf. The engine was allegedly 'inspired' by the Honda CB77 and produced 60+bhp, which in 71 was quite spicey for a 750 road bike. I do love the thing... but get fed up with being asked "is it a Jota mate?" Ĝ ;D

If it was a Jota it could have been this one ;). This was the magazine cover I stumbled across in W H Smuts (as it was then called by Claire Short, the Labour MP) in December1978. The cover photo and THAT bike got me into Laverda's when I was 17 and I couldn't even afford a used one until I was 39!

Hi Kickback

Welcome to the forum.  I'm also in Somerset (and ride a GS1250!) - currently restoring a CB400.  I've found the members on this forum to be very helpful with any questions Honda related - I'm sure you'll find the same.  Best of luck with your project

Regards Steve
