Great to see your bike looking like an everyday ride Florence this is how these old bikes should look!

PS Was that barn in the USA or is it a UK bike with semi ape hangers?

Thank you!

It is a UK bike, I've known it since about 1986 when my friend had it and I bought it in boxes in 1995 for £150 and put it back together.  I probably spent about £6-700 getting things right and I've been riding it ever since.  Handlebars like that were all the rage in the 1970s (I find them very comfortable) so in many ways it's a period piece, has all the contemporary modifications, individual air filters, four into one, was a Laser but the silencer rusted to bits.  I've now fitted a universal silencer on the end.  Despite problems people have reported about non-standard exhaust and air filters, this one runs brilliantly, no flat spots or anything.  Doesn't have standard jets though.  Sadly over the years the original petrol tank developed a hole so it now has a 750K1 tank which I bought from DK, 500 ones seem hard to find.

I've never been one for cosmetics though so oily rag it will always be, and practicality over originality.

The bars reminded me of those fitted to a Virago I hired in Crete/or Cyprus many years ago - as you say very comfy.

Very unusual Velo/Norton combination, never seen one before. I can't make out what the owner has actually called it, Veloton maybe?

Great few hours out at Boston Bike Night. New organising team this year and they have moved it from Central Park back to the town centre, Wide Bargate, Strait Bargate and the Market Place. Massive number of bikes there, of all sorts, and a lots of local 'non bikers' visiting and enjoying themselves. I didn't take any photos but when I see some posted on local bike groups by others, I'll post some. All in, a great evening. It was cold though, dry and bright but not much like July 😢😢😢

Julie there seems to be a common theme across the country with the absence of a descent spell of weather, very unseasonably cold and wet here with the temperatures dipping into single figures on several occasions. I’ve had 2 runs on the 550k3 and 1 run on the 750. Still hoping it’s going to change.

One good thing about all this rain, it keeps my noisy neighbours out of the courtyard, I can even get some sleep in the afternoons!  ;D

Yes Dave, Ribblehead. The roads are fantastic and the little 250's are perfect for up here. Some of the back roads around here are that steep you have to come up them in 1st gear and go back down them in 1st gear 😂😂😂😂

I applaud the finest scenery, stunning, neigh, exceptional roads and choice of boozer. I once got snowed in there for three nights back in my trudging about days, it’s was splendid and all had a marvellous time. It was a bit of a shame when the ploughs came really I could have stopped up there for ages
