How do I value a Maicoletta Scooter?

<< < (8/8)

McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
Just a bit of an update my hunger for a Maicoletta 250 Scooter has subsided until I see some at Stafford Show next month. I suspect that they are difficult to find spares for with only a handful of folk who know how to keep them going so I want common sense to prevail. I do not think they sold in big numbers in the UK.

Early this morning I remembered that I briefly replaced the Maico with a Viscount Prior.
It was an awful replacement but dirt cheap I think it was £35 for a Viscount Prior 200 - very tidy bodywork in Blue with less than 20k miles on the clock. I believe they were previously made under a different brand but ran into legal problems over the name. https://cybermotorcycle.com/euro/brands/prior.htm

It rode as though the seat had a massage system built into it - the engine vibration was so strong at anywhere above 50 mph it sent your bum numb. I sold it within a few weeks of ownership making a small gain in the process. Attached photo is from the Web.
