If people are questioning the worth of being in the VJMC, there's a 400/4 going for

That's a good idea.

Post here when you know the date and we'll try to stir up some SOHC interest!

Had the latest mag through the post today & the 10th May has been set for the Box Hill get together of the South-East regions. This is being organised by Paul Turk (01634-241640) of the Kent section.

I'm sure that it should really be on the 9th May as the 10th is a Monday...just in case anybody was asking.

I am also a member of the VJMC & find the mag very interesting, it also helped a member from SOHC get a key from a contact in the mag, Darren

Well UK Pete, SF Brain & I all met up at the Gamecock on Thursday evening & had a good time chewing over all sorts of subjects.

There was a lovely CB500/4 in brown that looked better than new, as well as a nice CB750/4 'N' reg that a bloke called Alan had owned for the last 31 years...& still looks as good now as when he first bought it. The paintwork & the chrome was still nice & shiney & the engine sounded as good as UK Pete's CB750K1, which Peter had also ridden to the meeting.

There were some more recent bikes there as well as the oldies...there was a lovely clean example of a Kawasaki ZXR750R that looked as though it had just been wheeled out of the showroom. There were a number of aircooled Yamaha RDs as well as a few Triumphs as the venue is a popular place as it's just along the road from Brands Hatch. There was a regular sounding of bike horns & a wave as roving motorcyclists went past the pub whilst out on a warm Summers evening, & I cannot think of anywhere better than sitting outside & talking about my favourite subject.

Alan did say that he was going to join this forum, as UK Pete had spoken to him about it before I did...maybe next time I will make sure that I have a pen & paper on me so that I can jot down the forum web address...maybe we need some forum calling cards?

Joined for about a year when I first bought my 750-K2. Posted a couple of questions on their "chat/forum" but it took forever to get any answers. The website did have some very good pointers on who to go to for polishing and blasting and powdercoating and the like.
But apart from that I didn't find the club very inspiring.

As I have just been reminded by Steve (sfbrain), the Kent section of the VJMC are holding a BBQ at the Gamecock pub near to Brands Hatch at West Kingsdown tomorrow night. Hopefully the weather forecast is correct & it will stay fine all day.

Well if the weather is better than what it was like over most of August then i'll be heading down to the Gamecock tomorrow night.

I was out on the R1 tonight & bumped into a guy who has a few older Jap bikes & he said that he may well come over on one of his bikes & join the conversation, so it will be worth it to see which one of his bikes he turns up on.

I'll be there with the missus on the Exup.
