Missing Horn Stay?

<< < (2/2)

Bryanj:
Only by the thickness of the metal bracket as horn bolts onto same two bolts

McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
My 400 that is a UK bike did not have that bracket plus the cable guide is different as well to the one in your parts diagram.

Laverda Dave:
Part numbers 11 and 19 were not fitted to the UK bikes. The UK bikes had a flat bracket holding the horn. The bracket has two rubber anti-vibration collars with metal sleeves and is attached to the frame with two long 6mm bolts that also pass through the wire hoop (item 2). The wire hoop acts as a guide for the throttle cables. The bolts also pass through the flange on the frame that in turn forms the front of the frame backbone pressing. The bolts also pass through to what is called the 'speed stay' on the l/h side. The speed stay holds the large diameter rubber boot of the wiring harness in place. The two bolts pass through from left to right so the two flanged nuts are on the horn bracket. If your bike still has the wire loop (item 2) you are very lucky as these were the first items to be lost! You can still buy them from Yamiya. Ash was able to get one for me as part of a larger order (thanks Ash👍).
