Switch gear lettering colour
« on: December 03, 2024, 05:59:09 PM »
As the title what colour should the lettering be on the switch gear? I've refurbished my old switches and coming to painting the lettering. Just wondering what colour this should be? Some seem to be a orange and some more of a red? Are the orange ones I'm seeing just faded red or were they originally orange?

In my mind I thought they were like a burnt orange, I mixed a red with a little orange just to tone the red a little.

I believe many reds have yellow mixed in to vary the shade of red, the rest is probably due to uV breaking down the pigment.
My Superdream has black switches with Green markings, they look original.

Here a photo of the unmolested switch gear before I painted it, I bought the bike new so it was original paint at this point.
several different colours can be seen the "Start" looks to be red
