Reversed brake caliper.
« on: November 22, 2010, 09:53:07 AM »
Has anyone tried turning their forks round so that the front brake caliper is on the opposite side and behind the fork leg?

On the American site there is a magazine article which suggests doing this.  I wondered if anyone has experienced the difference.  I am about to fit new gaitors so need to remove my forks anyway.  Maybe I should try this while it is apart?

(I was very pleased to see that the article suggests throwing away the bulky and weighty 4-4 system and replace with lightweight and stylish 4-1 system  ;))

I can go one better than that, my first twin disc conversion used two RH sliders which put one caliper in front and one behind with one side mudguard mounting carefully cut off and welded on backwards so as to fit. Along withthe GL1000 master worked great---All this back in 76
