Repairing fins
« on: March 07, 2011, 07:00:46 PM »
Some of the cooling fins on my engine have chunks snapped out of them and some are a bit bent out of shape and I don't have the missing pieces it looks like the bike has been dropped by a PO or something. Has anybody repaired there's? Is it an easy job or shall I just replace the cylinder head/ block? Don't really want to spend much money as it's costing me enough to repair the bike as it is so if I can repair that would be better.

Can be built up with weld - JW motorcycles would be the place I'd try by you for that............ At a first geuss as I've never actually asked if they weld alloy. If you decide to replace them someone like me would probably be happy to buy serviceable parts that are cosmetically screwed up as they'll probably work fine even if they look like ****
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock
