does anyone know where the numbers or letters are on the top engine case to tell what colour shells i need i car,nt see them anywhere????? >:( >:( >:(

As far as I can remember, they arent on a 400/4. The only way is to measure the gaps with plastiguage then work out if its within spec. If not, then you get the coloured shells to make up or reduce the gaps.

On the 400F there are markings on the rear of the crankcase, however I have never had luck with these codes. I mic the casings and the crank journals and choose the colour of the shells from the book.

all done now i can find all the letter,s and numbers on the cases crank and conrods
