CB750 jump start from auto
« on: February 21, 2005, 08:47:33 PM »
Hey there, 1st post, 1st CB750.
I recently bought an old beatup 750 that is taking some work to get back on the road.  It really isnt that rough, it just needs to be driven (like so many old cars/bikes) !
I was just curious if jump starting the bike from a car can fry the rectifier?  I have heard things to that effect, is that true?
  thanks
-AJ

:casstet:  In theory is shouldn't matter the Honda should only draw the current it needs, the problem arises when relays get stuck closed then massive amounts of current can be drawn.

I've jumped( :o ) my '76 F from my BMW K100 which has one of the odessy PC680s in it.

The PC680 has 680 cold cranking amps available, a lot more than the standard Yuasa 12N14
