needle removal

Hi all im wanting to lift my needles in the carbs to richen it slightly as ive put cone filters on, my question is how do i do it?? ive searched on here and looked in haynes it shows pic of carb exploded but not sequence for getting needles out?? many thanks in advance jonny

Hello, which bike is it?

Usually you have to remove the throttle slides from the top of the carbs to get to the needles on most setups.

This would normally mean removing all the components above the slides to get access, then replacing afterwards.

Can be done in-situ but marginally easier if carbs are removed and worked on seperately on a bench.

sorry forgot to say 400/4, i manged to do it i thought they had to be split from one another but they didnt thanks for reply

It's a bit fiddly but not too bad if you have a bit of time to get it done.

Hope you get it running a bit smoother with the adjustment.
