Hi

I have hit complications!  >:( The fork covers that I got from France (brackets that hold the headlight and indicators on) don't fit!  :-\ It is a mystery to me! But the ones I got from France are 160mm from the top down to the radius edge where it fits over the bottom bracket (the part where the indicator bolts to) and the ones I got with the bike are 145-150mm and the headlight bracket part is further down rather than right at the top. I don't know if they are original (I am thinking that they look more like the ones fitted to the 650SC model). ::)

I have done some digging and found out that the correct parts for my bike according to Western hills are 51606-460-730 and 51602-460-730 for the CB650C. But that does not help as I don't know their length. Some guy had a set of 51606-460-000 and 51602-460-000 for an 1980 CB650C but these were 160mm the same as the ones from France! So I am hoping that perhaps I may find the correct parts! In the picture of a CB650C in the link in this post has the same as mine! 51602-460-840 and 51606-460-840 are the SC part numbers!

I could really do with finding someone who has a 1981 CB650C and could measure for me the fork covers. Also I could do with finding someone with a CB650SC Night hawk who could do the same!

I have had to put the rusty ones on so I can take the bike to the bike garage to sort out why it will only run with the choke on and is running very intermittently on the two left hand cylinders.

Ho hum...

Cheers

John

Hi

I have found a set off a 1982 CB650SC Nighthawk from the US (Ohio to be exact!). Wonder how much import duty I will have to pay this time.  >:( Can't believe they fleeced me for £18.91 on the grab rail :o

Ho hum...

Cheers

I don't know if you have tried it or not but i usually ask the seller to mark the customs forms "Vintage motorcycle parts" and Gift  i think it has helped as i have only paid duty on a couple of things  ;) cheers Mick.

I bought a £20 waterproof satnav case off eBay and it came from Hong Kong.

The customs form said "Gift" and "$2.00"

Hi

Don't know how they work these import taxes out. My front fender which was a quite large box and a tad more expensive yet I never paid any extra. Yet the grab rail was mega expensive! There is no logic to it!

Cheers

Depends on the description and value on the CN22 form
