Lucky you! I looked in this tank and it looked fine and sealed well but as soon as I put some petrol in it started to come off, been dry for 9 years. Hopefully I won't need to line it agaain, gonna just run it. It's not too bad now I've rinsed most out.

The bikes got one of those motad 4 into 1exhausts on there which I'm not a fan of, and it's quiet, if I slice the end off the can and remove all the baffles etc i think that might improve its sex appeal somewhat

Probably better off just buying another pipe, or use the motad down pipes and collector, then weld a decent pipe on to it

I read somwhere on here a while back that someone punched a hole through the baffle plates with a long chisel which improved the performance a bit and made the pipe sound better, if you open up these pipes you will find all sorts of baffling plates and chambers which start right at the begining of the  pipe, good luck with it maybee you can show us some pictures once you have modified it

I did something similar to that on my old cd 250u, it did make it a bit louder, this is as much about cosmetics as it is noise , the pipe is about 5 inch diameter but the hole in the end is well small, would look better just open I think. Ile take some pics I might have a blast tomorrow.

Nice job Andy, did you fit the tyres or was it a garage?

They were powder coated as one piece, I had the same done on my last ones. I've no need to ever take the wheel apart. The local bike shop fitted the tyres for me, for a ten quid or whatever it cost it's not worth the hassle it's not simple. Here she stands with the wheels  on

Handlebar dilemma, these are standard ones which I was going to keep on but I'm not so sure. I like the low kinda bars but concerned about the riding position, drag bars perhaps?

Also got my new rear shocks today

Looking good Andy.

IMHO Cafe = rearsets + Clipons ( Or Ace bars min )

I hate to categorise like this as a bike should be a reflection of its owner ( thats why mine is boring, standard and overweight  :) ) so go for what YOU want but in categories the standard bars look more 'Street Fighter' than cafe to my eyes.

PS Standard bars will be more comfortable of course and delay the onset of 'Potato pickers back'

I cut down the mudguard, Also got my new bars on and bled up the brakes. I opted for drag bars. I had a bit of a job soldering up the switch wires which like a fool I cut really close to the controls.
