Oil around the heads??
« on: April 13, 2006, 03:36:25 PM »
I have a 74 750k in the US (so it is gas, not petrol).  It runs awesome but there has started to be oil showing on the front side of the heads, right near where the exhaust and plugs are.  Is this normal?  Or should I be looking for something?

Thanks!

Is this where the head joins the cylnder or above, oil spreads like mad.

I had oil pouring from around the centre two plug holes, turned out I'd not refitted the two bolts for the cam cover that are inside the breather cover.

It could also be those little rubber disks that are mounted on the head under the cam assembly are passing/leaking.
