If you have a hole. then that hole will have rust, and rust grows, eats metal. I used por 15 to paint a frame once. It took 3 weeks to dry. Put it in the oven and it went soft again. It was like putty and f**ked my spray gun. Good finish on the frame though.

If it's, as you say not a big deal to paint, get it brazed. Then you know it's done properly.
I'm guessing this Por15 stuff is just like putting a big plastic bag inside your tank.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

I used PQR on a tank for my cb650Z. I was meticulous with the prep and waited several weeks before filling with fuel. It lasted three weeks before is started to leak again. Not impressed!
In the end I spotted a new tank in David Silver and two side panels in Germany. I stomped on the old tank and bought the NOS ones. Cost £430. But when you deduct the cost of the PQR 15, the cost of the paint and add in the time to do it all without any guarantee that it will work or look good, it isn't so expensive.
It looked fab.
I learned the hard way and would go for a new tank ready painted up anytime.

May be you have read http://www.sohc.co.uk/index.php?topic=4758.0

I was only interested in painting the inside of the tank, not sealing it. However the kit I used came with a small bit of gauze that you were supposed to steep in the paint etc and a brush for applying it. May be this will only work for small holes, but as a product I think POR 15 paint is very good.
