If that white piece you have is just a plastic tube then the "strainer" is missing.
The strainer is the white part you see in the two pictures I posted.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

As mentioned, the strainer envelopes the tube. The tube is the "main" tank, the petrol tap has another hole in it at "ground level" to let the remaining fuel out.

well the strainer is in the tank and looks to be settled in nicely. just sticking out of hole

hardly any rust in tank and what looks like bare white metal  around the top of tank

been washed out ...... good to use ?
