bike got through it's mot yesterday with only a minor advisory and that was a too tight chain !.

what was interesting was the amount of attention the bike got from the garage mechanics while it was parked up
outside  waiting its turn to go in,they kept on coming out to have a look....the chief tester was glad to see it and he had a huge smile on his face as he said it cheered his day up to test it instead of the usual Bandits, yams and quacks .etc,

what was suprising was the questions I was getting about the bike,..like,. what was it,-what year-,what cc,-was it a f1,f2,-was it original,
it was almost as if they hadn't seen a F2 before,...but come to think about it neither have i and while i have the bike I have never seen another one in north Yorkshire.

the final comment came from another biker who passed the comment that these were the bikes to get and keep insteasd of the present day rubbish on offer today.

         regards,..terry

Yes agree. It's amazing how many people know the 400/4 though, even non-bikers and younger people. Just shows how it grabbed everyone's affection, then and now.

Never owned an F2 750 or come to think of it seen one in the 'flesh' but reputedly a really nice bike to own and that's by a Sandcast aficionado.

Cheers ... AshD

they are a nice bike ashD,....I love riding the one I have,

one comment about the bike I thought was unusual was a reference to the transparent front brake master
cylinder, when he said,sadly,..(you don't get those anymore on todays bikes)

Great news on the MOT tarmac,Technically the F2 is the the best of the 750 sohc bikes, produces the most power, has the best brakes, strongest wheels, best suspension and much more, however they are not as desireable as the early k models, just like the k7 and k8 models are less desireable,
I have  an f2 and really enjoy riding it, they take some setting up to get the carbs running properly though

That's nice. What have you done to your tank flap? Is it chromed?

yes it is chromed ,....I spotted it on ebay and thought that it might look good on the F2,...put in a bid and won.

it's far from original but I like it and might leave it on

Nice looking bike Terry and just ready in time for some good sunny days we hope.

I've always liked the F2, a freind had a new one in 79 and I always thought it looked so nice. Pete's one is a nice one as well that i've seen out at the ace-cafe and as you have found they get a lot of interest when parked near anyone interested in bikes.

Thanks for posting the pics.
