MikeM:
going  to have a go at re upholstering a seat

i have the base ..........

Any one had a go before ....

need a place for foam, the clips at edge.. like rivets with star washers

any tips, tried moretti but he cant do it for ages

Trigger:
Is the pan metal ? If it is, strip and repaint first. The star washer are for holding the chrome trim on. When cutting foam, use a electric kitchen knife.

MikeM:
base is original

all I have is the pan which I have cleaned up and painted....... been on ebay and foam there is masses of it

Trigger:
That foam is no good. It is not firm enough. The original foam was injected into a mold. It is down to having firm foam and getting the shape right.

MikeM:
just emailed a guy on ebay who sells whioch looks ok edging strips to replace the broken clips on inside of base also he does foams to order?

will let you know outcome
