Vive La France
« on: October 03, 2014, 11:36:41 AM »
This is for Bitsa in sunny Frogland as reading his posts gave me a real good laff (and the replies more so).

How many French Soldiers does it take to defend Paris?
Nobody know's cos its never been done.

Why are the roads in France lined with trees?
So the German Soldiers can march in the shade.

There is a new French Army Knife on the market......in addition to all the usual gadgets found on the Swiss Army Knives, it also has a little white flag.

No offence intended to anyone - especially our French cousins.....who I'm sure have plenty of chuckles at our expense.
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. GS750E. ZZR1100. CB1300 (2). ZXR1200S. VFR800. CB750 Nighthawk. CX500. XS500 Yam. Suzuki GT500. BSA A10. Various Lambrettas. Zundapp Bella (honest).

Great jokes and not wanting to be Mr serious etc.,  but I spent alot of time in Normandy this year working on our cottage.

There have been serious festivities remembering the D day landings all year.  Arromanche and the war graves etc. was all very moving to see. There is obviously alot of respect and gratitude for what the allies did! One of our friends there has an agreed duty to ensure flowers are on 2 soldiers graves she is responsible at all times.

(Wonderful people (unless you are Mr John Lewis!!)

One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....
