1972 CB500K1: Goldie - back from the dead
« on: September 30, 2014, 05:35:46 PM »
I've had this bike for 8 years and it hasn't turned a wheel. Now, thanks to Sean Brennan at SB Engineering, I have a re-commissioned bike and a shiny new MOT (if not a shiny new bike)

There's still loads wrong with it but I'm going to resist the "K0 Disease" as exhibited by one or two on here and just ride it until the summer finally finishes.
Then I'm going to pester yo lot all winter about all the anoraky little details (is there such a word?)

More soon.

Steve

Very smart I always lusted after one of those when they came out, must have been the Mike Hailwood and Honda four connection, I bypassed it and went for the 750, but it's still a mighty attractive looking bike.

Cheers

Lovely bike. Good to hear another one on the road. Best enjoyed as it is. Can be too easy to chase perfection and that looks pretty close.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Nice bike Steve, the 1st 4 I ever rode was a 500 (L reg 1972?) in 1977. Still love the 4 machines to this day...no idea what the differences are K0...K3...?

Looks good Steve.. first 4 cyl.  bike I ever rode was a '72 500/4 .. was test driving it for a friend when he went to buy it and couldn't believe how smooth it was. Never owned one, which is a real shame.
That points sheathing looks a bit yellowed to me though  ... you need some new stuff off me... oh sh*t obsession kicking in again.... ::)

Cheers .. Ash

Well done. Looks lovely. That was the first Four I rode too. Seemed very fast after a CB350K4. I was lent it by a friend to ride down to Somerset to see my girl friend. The trouble was it did about half the MPG the twin did.

You could well be right oddjob, i tend to look at these when i am winding down after work and the 13-15 hour shifts make the brain cells more dull than they should be!!!
