Re-build stalled pending your help...
« on: October 25, 2014, 10:11:36 AM »
Hello all,

I'm about to fit the cylinder head and find myself temporarily stymied!

At the base of each cylinder is a large o-ring (c.55mm diameter) - part no. 91301-377-000. The ones I removed during the dismantling stage appear to be semi-hard 'plastic' with a break in them, rather than being proper o-rings. Two of them were brittle enough to snap when being removed. See photo below.

My questions are: 1) are they designed to be as described above and therefore a very specialised part that I need to order or should these be basic and continuous o-rings? and 2) there are 4 rubber o-rings of c.55mm diameter in the gasket set I bought from David Silver. Are these to be used at the base of the cylinders (I can't yet think what else such large o-rings would be used for)?

Thank you. I may be able to complete my planned weekend work with your help rather than putting it off for yet another weekend whilst I await parts I didn't realise I needed!

Cheers, D.

Hi,
They start off life as "o" rings, so re-fit with the ones from your kit, pushing well into the groove at the bottom of each liner.
nice bike,nothing in the bank

Rather hoped that was the answer!
