Hi all. Just a quick update. Been talking to Motad via email and they have been brilliant. Unfortunately neither Motad nor myself are 100% sure what the problem is so we are looking for a workaround solution at the moment. So far they have made me a set of bespoke head rings that arrived today (shorter than standard), should be able to fit the pipes tomorrow. I should then be able to accurately measure for a modified silencer bracket. Never had after sales service as good as this from anywhere. Thanks Motad I really appreciate your help. Cheers.

Glad to hear this, I also found Motads after sales was great even buying a used system off ebay they were still able and willing to help with a discontinued rebel 125 system. Better than Honda after sales.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Hi Bitza. I guess the difference is that yours fitted the cylinder head, whereas mine doesn't. That's why they have provided shorter head rings at 23mm rather than the standard 28mm. Still got the bracket that the stand completely misses to sort out, but just going to the garage now to see if the header pipes will fit with the new head rings. Will report back later. Cheers.

Exhaust is finally correctly fitted. Motad (bless em) made me some new head rings 5mm shorter and now they fit a treat. On standard Honda studs the nuts tighten up with 2 threads showing through. Perfect. Not got a clue what was happening with the standard head rings. The header to silencer fit was due to "out of round" distortion from welding. I turned a mandrel on the lathe and tapped it in to get them round again, they now fit well. The rear silencer bracket was still miles out. I had to re-bend the bottom of it with a 45 degree bend to get it to meet the centre stand. Got it all perfect now. 10 out of 10 to Motad for after sales service. Shame they couldn't get it right first time. OH well!!

Came a bit late to this but I too had a couple of issues when fitting a Motad 4 into 1 to my F1. I did feedback at the time but for completeness!!

Firstly I couldn't make the thing fit at all. Naturally assumed the problem was with the nut trying to fit the system! turned out 1 header pipe was the wrong one! Motad replaced quickly so no complaints there.

I would feedback though that the header rings were extremely difficult to push round the tight final bend on the header tubes and scratch up the finish. I used standard split collars and all was well. Maybe the shorter ones produced for this user would be better as standard?
