Braided brake lines
« on: November 26, 2014, 09:29:34 PM »
I bought a set of braided hoses for the front brake but the bottom hose is much longer than the standard one.

It's long enough to go all the way to the caliper without using the metal brake line. Is that ok as long as it's secured away from the wheel?

If it is, I've got a brand new repro metal brake line going spare!

On all my sohc hondas the braided lines completely replace the whole brake line, caliper to master, some still use the junction on the yokes, others move the front brake switch to a banjo in placevof the pressure switch on the yoke. My bikes are cb550 and 500 so may be a bit different.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Great. That helps a lot. Cheers.  :)

I got a set of Earls lines via Inox Fasteners. They still use the junction so the pressure switch is not disturbed.

It was an option to keep the rigid pipe or get lower hose that went straight to the caliper but that looks ugly to me so I retained the rigid pipe.
