Early k0 heads are very similar to the sandcast, infact late sandcast and early k0 heads are the same, as steff says this is late k0 or k1 as it has the extra bolt hole

If it sells at 99 euro, it is a good head for a K0.

On closer inspection it appears to be k3 onwards certainly no earlier than 73, which means yes there are loads of them about

This is a k0 head
all heads up until some point through k2 production have the 5 fin posts that come through on the outer edge underside of the  bottom fin as you can see on here , then they went to a more solid non round 3 post style between the fins up till 1978

This is the one that did not sell, see no pertruding fin posts on the bottom, plus you can see where it has been clearly mated up with the barrells that have all the rubber orings which were after 1972

I know about the 3 and 5 fin posts. And that is why i said i would need to see the side, as i have a few heads in stock that have 5 fin posts but, they are not protruding. This still is confusing why the head as 300 stamped on it.

You have a good point there trig, why the 300 code ?,like you say it needs to be viewed from the side to be sure, anyway one thing is for sure it aint worth much as people jump at the chance of a k0 head, i have one of these heads with exactly the same 300 no and markings with a solid 3 fin spacer f== knows what it came off but i do know up till some point of k2 production they have the 5 fin spacers

Pete, i have had a few people tell me that a 3 fin spacer is K3 onwards but, i know of a few customers that have K2's (UK from new) that have 3 fin spacers. And a few more that have K2's with 5. I have also worked on a German 750K1 that has 3 and that engine had never been apart before i got my grubby mitts on it.
Was Honda Casting it own heads or where they farmed out?
