Touch of the Wilko Johnson's.

Lovely RD. I'd like a 400 like that...

I passed my test on it when I was 17.

Sexy ! The bike is a work of art. I had the KH250 to pass my test but, always wanted a RD250 or the 350. Ended up with a RD500LC and sorry to say but, sold it for a XJ650Turbo. Mistake !

He plays the wrong instrument, this is a still from a recent video of me playing the right instrument.

The top photo was pinned inside the lid of a wooden toolbox I made as an apprentice and has 1981 written on the back, the bottom photo is the same bike in 2013.

Seems a 400 in that condition is about 5k. Yours probably not much less I suppose. Great that you kept it all these years. Everyone else is looking for theirs!

Did they come with a centre stand?

It has got a centre stand, it's on it in the photo where I am stood behind it, I was once offered £4000 for it by the guy who owns the garage where I get it MOT'd but as I've had it so long I can't bring myself to sell it, I knocked a lamppost down with the RD125 further up this thread 2 days before I was due to take my test and I needed a bike ASAP so I bought the 250 whilst the 125 was being fixed (bent forks and buckled wheel) then sold the 125 which was already paid for with my summer job money (I bought it when I was 16) and kept the 250 which was on HP, I used the money from the 125 to pay off part of the 250.
