Thanks Lobo, it's a K1/2 switch without doubt looking at tip #85. What a great link and thanks very much! I daren't look toooooooo closely at other tips, it starts to show up some of the subtle original differences on my bike, such as the mirrors! I have the aftermarket Honda ones but nothing like the original, bet they're rare! My indicator lenses are aftermarket but correct labelling. All subtle really..
Trigger, I'll take a picci of the underside later and see what you think.
   Thanks guys.
    Nige.

Oh,
Quick photo of the offending switch which has mysteriously changed colour. Base coat on and final less glossy coat after a couple of days drying. I really didn't want to disturb anything further, so this will do for meantime.

You cant go by Honda 750 site, it is only for USA models.
The underside of the switch does look to be K2 but, i have strange feeling that this is a Australian unit. I have sent the pictures to a mate in OZ to see if he has seen this before.
Do you know if the hole that has the spring inserted, has a internal thread for the second cable.

Nope, it hasn't. It's much narrower and seems to be designed  for the 'cruise screw'. Certainly not for a throttle cable anyway.

I think that James was right. The bottom being from a KO and the top from a K2.
