CB500 clutch cable question
« on: April 30, 2015, 10:21:50 AM »
Does anyone know when Honda changed the clutch cable from the right hand side of the early CB500 engine to the left hand side please?

Never seen a 500 Four engine with the clutch cable on the right. The 550 has it on the right.

I'm sure they didn't, the 500 had the cable on the left, it moved to the right when it was bored out to become the CB550.  ;D
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

There was a 500K3 that was a sleeved down 550K3 and that had the clutch cable on the right BUT that model was never imported by Honda UK---there are a few out there, including one that they gave the wrong build year to and got registered 1971/2.

The engine canh not be "converted" as the clutch covers(and crankcase) are adifferent shape at the join of the two
