Have got these shiny bad boys in my sticky paws now. Just need some 10mm plate to arrive to get mounting them.

Forward control brackets welded in place.

Forward controls mounted.

First sit on the bike with everything just about in place.

Damn, that engine is wide!

Front brake rod connected

Rear brake rod connected. I ended up having to chop up a brand new rod to make it 2 inches longer.

Gear change rod nicely hidden out of sight

Needed to hide an ugly hole

Nicely done

Well, she has arrived back home now all the major fabrication work has been done

Been watching this a while as its different to the normal and therefore interesting. Can I make a suggestion though without it looking like criticism (it isn't), you need to do something about that clutch cable. Other than that nothing thing, the bikes coming on a treat. Well done.

HaHa, don't worry about the cabling, it will all be changed, just on for convenience at the moment. The clutch cable is so long due to me getting rid of the original silly wheelbarrow handlebars that were so wide and looked so wrong. See my profile pic.
Thanks for all the kind remarks.
And Roy, all criticism is good, good or bad, I can take it. lol

No red Pete, it will be royal blue candy over a silver flake base, finished of with variegated gold leaf flames.

It's amazing what one goes through when you buy a bike. Originally all I was going to do was rebuild the cam and put it back on the road, but my old school brain cells kept looking at everything that was just so wrong with it and just have to put it right as it should be. I want something that will not only turn heads but be something to be proud off!  8) :)

Like it. Was watching 21 Days Under The Sky at the weekend. This would have fitted right in.  ;D
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know.

1/5/16

I decided to sand down the edges of the fins as they looked a bit rough, polished up a treat with some good old elbow grease.

Started the final strip down.

Frame is now having all the welds that couldn't be reached welded up neatly and all dressed, and some frame gussets inserted as a last minute decision. Then going to get the frame and tins shot blasted, then it's off to the painters to make it all pretty. Getting stoked on this now!
