Thanks for the positive vibes guys 'n gals, just taking it one step at a time, don't worry, no suicidal thoughts or any crap like that, I am staying positive, don't know what the future holds as I can't fund a retirement just yet so will still have to earn a crust for a while, but being your own boss for the last 30 years makes it even harder to think what I can do, I have only ever been in one profession all my life and the thought of picking up all I have lost doesn't bare thinking about so will probably get a mundane job that doesn't use too many grey cells as I am losing them at a rapid rate as well. :o
I will keep you updated with the project as soon as I can kick myself into gear.
Cheers
Mike

Catching up after a while away thinking things through. Really sorry to hear about your circumstance, Mike. I hope things start to get a bit clearer and easier soon, I can't imagine what that must have been like.

The bike will wait, its bits of metal and wire and stuff at the end of the day. Once you feel like getting back to it, it will hopefully become a great release and stress buster.

Good luck, Fella. It is a great build.
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know.

Hi folks, apologies for the long silence.
Well I have now managed to get started again, got the engine painted at long last and have now started the rebuild.

Wow! I started reading this thread as just "another build" thread, but when I got to the part about your business I had a tear in my eye! So sorry to hear about your strife Mike but I really admire your resolve to carry on! Oh, and the bike looks fantastic as well, Hope you see her through to the end and I hope you are over the worst of your bad times. Regards, Clunker.

At long last I have got my tank back from the painters. Trees are on and awaiting checking before getting it back on 2 wheels again.

I had to get a new steering stem made up as I realised there was not a lot of thread holding the bike together. Better safe than sorry.
I also managed to get a dust seal from a breakers that was just a tad to big but with a bit of felt cut to fit as a seal all is now hopefully sealed from dust and grease leakage. I polished out some bad scratches on the trees as best I could and it looks much better now. I also made up a 5mm spacer for the bottom tree as the tree was rubbing on the bottom of the neck. 1mm made all the difference. Don't know why people can't do the job right the first time. :(

That is looking so cool and its not even finished! Keep it going.  I agree with your statement, 'why can't people do it right first time', it actually takes longer to bodge something  ???

We are a little further down the line now, almost ready for the wiring, that's going to be fun.
Here is my chavy son modeling the bike.
