phil read replica
« on: May 04, 2015, 09:26:04 AM »
Hi all, not been on here for a while, last time i was on, posted some pics of my Honda dream 3e 1953, have picked up a Phil read replica a few moths ago, didn't know if it was a correct one or one made from parts, the bike had been sat for around 20 years, i have now got the bike running, and its cleaning up, lost a bit of its black paint of the engine and left fork. sent for all the owners details from the dvla, it came back with a whole list, one of them lived not far from a friend of mine, so asked him about it, he remembers it well, also on the list was the dealer who sold it. Bill Smith Motors, gave them a ring, and spoke to bill, he remembers the bike, he had got 6 in to sell, gave him engine and frame numbers. so in all i have a correct Phil read replica..
Iam also rebuilding a Honda CB72 1961, and have a Honda CB77 1962, in a unrestored condition, iam only the 2nd only. the first owner purchased it new in Okinawa Japan in 1962, shipped it back to the us with him in 64, he never rode it again, got just over 4k on the speedo..
will try and post some pics..
Alan

Look in the "New Members Intro" board. There's a sticky thread with loads of info for new members (including how to resize pictures)
Put your location in your profile.

Looks great pretty much all there, can't see the handlebars to see if they are original you should be able to get that perfect.  Mine was just bits in a box when I got it
