The carbs on the K "I think" are shorter than the PD's so modification's around the air box would be required to make it fit. Also seen the thread discussing larger idle jets but cant find it again now. That would probably do it as it's the lean mixture causing the problem, no idea where you would get a non standard item like that though.

Had a quick look that seems promising. Will have to do a bit of research to establish which size is going to be best. Cheers.

Just had a search for idle jet info and found this   http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,48858.0.html   Put me off going for larger pilot jets but I did find a golden nugget that may help. The idle air screws apparently work the opposite way to k series carbs, out for richer? :-[

Just come back from a 50 mile run out. The thing runs sweet as a nut, so going to have a small play with the idle screws and just leave it alone. Have set the tick over at 1300 to 1400 RPM and it is reliable there. So I am going to learn to live with its one little problem. Messing with the jetting can only make its sweet running worse, so perfectionism back in the box and get on with riding it I think. If only all days were sunny like this.
